ENRICHMENT CLUBS

Preferred School Care, in addition to our after school program, offers “parent funded” enrichment clubs in music, performing arts, soccer, karate, tennis, science and ballet/tap for the school year.

 

These clubs are open to ALL students!

…Not just those enrolled with PSC After School Program.   Enrichment Clubs include:  Big Thinkers Science Explorations; Forefront Arts; Kid Goals Soccer;  Kidz Tennis;  Music After School (Piano Lessons); Fehree Performance Ballet/Tap Dance Club,   “I Am Defense” Karate. PSC needs a minimum of students to conduct each of the enrichment clubs.  Parents of students currently enrolled in PSC After School Program, as well as interested parents of students attending that school, who are not enrolled with PSC afterschool, can participate in these enrichments.  Enrichment enrollment forms are available on our website or at the specific after school program location.  If you have questions or want more information, please contact Site Director.

Forefront Arts Drama Class

Develop your acting, singing and dancing skills while rehearsing for our showcase performance.   In addition to rehearsing the show, students will learn physical and vocal warm-ups, play theatre games, and receive training in acting technique, vocal skills, choreography, and theatre etiquette and terminology. We believe that experience in the performing arts provides students with many valuable life skills including self-confidence, resourcefulness, teamwork and self-control. Our instructors are professional theatre artists with years of experience teaching kids and teens.

 

OverTime Sports Soccer

OverTime Sports Soccer is a dynamic program for boys and girls designed to develop an interest in the game and establish a solid foundation in preparation for recreational or club soccer.  We are able to accomplish this by making sure the number one ingredient is present at all times: FUNdamentals! Students will learn various elements of the game such as passing, trapping, dribbling, shooting, and ball control.  The sessions are composed of exciting games such as Terminator, Sting Ray, and World Cup.  It is our belief  that soccer instills cooperation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-confidence, all of which are key components that transcend the playing field and impact the development of our children.

 

Kidz Tennis

This dynamic, progressive USTA youth-based tennis program is designed for boys & girls and features; Mobile tennis courts w/scaled down - age appropriate equipment, foam & low compression tennis balls, a Certified Youth Tennis Coach, and racquets are provided for use during the program.  Coach Mike offers this USTA-based program which is recognized as the best, fastest way for children to learn the game and achieve early success and enjoyment.  Children will learn balance & athletic movement, hand-eye coordination & racquet skills, tennis rules, scoring, etiquette & sportsmanship, tennis fundamentals, forehand, backhand, volleys, serve & footwork skills.  You can also contact Kidz Tennis for more information via email to:  Coach@kidztennis.com or visit www.kidztennis.com to learn more.

 

The Fehree Performance Ballet/Tap Dance Class

The Fehree Performance ballet/tap dance class is the perfect after school activity for keeping your child physically active and intellectually challenged. We conveniently teach here in your learning facility and focus on dance techniques based on musicality, rhythm and memorization. This class directly correlates with the Georgia Performance Standard of Health and Physical Education by encouraging our students to “adopt healthy and physically active lifestyles” through the art of dance. Through this program, we strive to instill the love of artistic movement and physical activity.

 

“I Am Defense” (Karate)

We provide a program that will assist teachers and parents with teaching self-discipline; respect for adults and peers; and, focuses on teamwork. Students receive a program that teaches “Think First” self-discipline; conflict resolution; reduces students’ urge to bully or fight; offers a “predator prevention” program; strengthens the mind through critical thinking exercises and games; supports academic achievement through recognition, positive reinforcement and affirmations; and, promotes focus, perseverance, and hard work.

During this 10-week film-making class, students work with professional filmmakers to learn the basics of film-making.  The class works as a team to produce an original short film, TV show, or music video!!!  The class will create a script, learn camera operations, lighting, and producing.  Then, the class will work as a production crew to shoot their film, show, or music video.  The final show or video will debut at a special screening for friends and family on the last day of class!   Class for Grades: 4th-5th.  http://kidstv.mobocproductions.com.  For more info please email info@mobocproductions.com OR call the Kids TV Program Director, Brandon Jolley at (773)540-5590.

 

InTown Stars Gymnastics

  • Beginner 1 – PreK -1st:  Beginner class focuses on tumbling, basic skills on the bars and balance beams and learning the fundamental basics of gymnastics.
  • Beginner 2 – Grades – 2-5.  A Beginner’s class for older children, with emphasis on forward and backward tumbling; the fundamental of gymnastics; and more changeling skills with a focus on form & strength.  Clothes should be loose fitting to allow for easy movement and range of motion.  Tank tops are encouraged under clothing for girls so shirts or tops wont fly up which upside down.

 

Singing After School with Ms. Haynes

Does your child want to sing? Join Ms. Haynes for singing lessons.  Come and learn the proper techniques and have fun while learning.  Anyone can learn how to sing better – especially of they have a vocal coach at their disposal.  And that’s what you’ll get in this class.  This class will teach you how to sing in tune, improve your range, find your optimum pitch, and use your chest voice and much more.
